Article on Mercury Hazards - by Dr Eric Davis DDS

I recently found an article on mercury health hazards written by Dr Eric Davis DDS, a biological dentist who works in Qld Australia.
The article describes how the unborn baby of a mother (who has amalgam fillings in her mouth), can become toxic and poisoned from mercury that originates from the mother's teeth. The mother is able to eliminate some mercury through sweating and bowel and bladder routes, but the unborn baby is not able to do so. Thus the mercury levels build up in the unborn child. According to Dr Davis, serious neurological damage can be done to the child and one case example is given where it appears that high levels of mercury might have caused this in one of Dr Davis' patients.
The article can be found at

One thing the article does not present is that certain vegetable sources can also remove mercury from the body.
According to the Essential Oils Desk Reference, 4th edn, p 130, university tests in 2003, mercury can be removed from the body by the essential oil helichrysum. However, one has to be careful as to the purity of the helichrysum. It has to be free of chemicals/solents - it must not be distilled using solvents or at high temperatures. The essential oil blend called Juva Cleanse, which is produced by the Young Living Essential Oils company. Juva Cleanse contains helichyrsum (to bind the heavy metals, especially mercury); celery seed essential oil (liver cleanser); and ledum essential oil (liver protectant). More information about mercury toxicity and the ability of helichrysum to chelate and bind heavy metals can be found in The Essential Oils Desk Reference, and The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple by David Stewart PhD DNM (available at

in Australia). Other interesting reading can be found on-line in the Reference guide for essential oils By Alan Higley.
