Pornography and Sex Crimes: The Link
: the new 40 minute DVD has been added to Presentations.
Jack and Margaret Sonnemann, directors of Federation for the Family, have created a brilliant DVD that reveals the truth that pornography, particularly 'soft' pornography, causes real violence toward women and children.
For years the porn pushers have insisted that pornography is 'just a bit of harmless fun' and that there is NO evidence to connect sexual and violent crimes with pornography, but thanks to Jack Sonnemann and his persistent and thorough research, that venomous lie has finally been busted.
"Pornography and Sex Crimes: the Link" is a 40 minute DVD that draws on the latest scientific data from international and Australian peer-reviewed medical journals, police reports, university professors, Supreme Court Magistrates and other experts documenting the undeniable link between pornography and sex crimes.
The evidence is undeniable and it's also alarming.
A couple of years ago, I heard Jack speak on the dangers of pornography and I was impressed with his ability to speak in a very entertaining, but also in a very educational manner. It was elating to hear someone finally presenting evidence that pornography DID actually cause harm, as for years, if women complained about their partners viewing porn, the answer was usually "oh, you're just jealous of the pretty girls in the photos." Whether they were jealous or not, women realised that pornography was making the intimacies of marriage difficult. Many wives protested their husband's stack of 'girlie' magazines, and became engaged in a fight for the survival of their marriages. Sadly many husbands didn't seem to understand the dynamics that pornography was causing and accused their wives of being 'frigid.' Many women didn't understand the effects of pornography either, but they knew they didn't like losing their husbands' admiration, respect and love and that porn had somehow caused this to occur.
The porn pushers promised for decades that their images will '
put some spice in your marriage'
and
'fire up your sex life'
and that porn is harmless - yet the total opposite is the proven truth.
The myth that pornography helps the sex life is BUSTED! It is actually causes impotence
.

(There is ample evidence of this truth. Here's a sample:
Author Thomas A. Szyszkiewcs
in his rebuttal to the Kinsey Report, writes that pornography is implicated in impotence as well as harassment and sexual crimes. Men become so desensitized to sexual stimulation after hours of viewing porn that they are often unable to sexually respond to their wives or partners.
Judith Reisman, PhD
explains, "The proliferation of pornography into mainstream America spreads impotence as a natural outcome of moral apathy." Men want a significant intimate emotional relationship with commitment just as women do, even though society would have us believe the opposite
The Canadian Supreme Court
ruled that all pornography was toxic in 1992.
Reisman
says that "cures like Viagra conceal the dysfunctional and anxiety-causing role played by pornography in promoting impotence.")
Did you know that Australia has the
highest exposure to pornography
in the world? And that Australian women and children suffer the
worst rates of rape
in the world? This is no coincidence.
Pornography consumption causes sexual assault rates to soar.
And pornography is seriously addictive. Soft porn users often progress to harder and more disturbing images. This is part of the addictive porn cycle. Like an addictive drug, the 'quality' of the porn has to be increased as desensitization takes place. Many porn viewers/addicts act out scenes that the smut magazines present to them in so-called 'humourous' stories. On his DVD, Jack reports several examples of actual copycat crimes performed -on school children - who were abducted from school by sex offenders after they viewed the idea in a porn magazine.
What are the 'benefits' that the porn pushers promise us? Free sex? Fun? Even these 'benefits' can't be sustained. Pornography ruins our sex drives, distances our intimate relationships; it causes women to be disrespected to the point of abuse, rape, torture and murder; it causes porn addicts to abduct, rape and murder our children; it makes adulterers and often criminals out of decent husbands and men. Some porn addicts pay for the obsession with their lives - eg Ted Bundy confessed that pornography ignited and then fueled his obsession with raping and murdering 28 young women - crimes for which he was executed. Furthermore, Bundy and multiple other sources emphasise that in EVERY instance where serious sexual crimes were committed, pornographic addiction was present. These are just some of the HARD effects of SOFT pornography which are fully exposed on Jack's DVD!
Are we slow learners? 2,000 years ago, Jesus warned us that if a man looks at a women with the intention to receive exclusive sexual pleasure for himself, (i.e. he pervs at her), then he is actually committing adultery.
Looking - perving - to get a sexual thrill, is not just LIKE committing adultery. According to Jesus, perving IS adultery.
It's very sad that we've had to learn the hard way. When God said, "Don't commit adultery," (of which porn-perving is a form), He was saying it so that we wouldn't be hurt, not so we couldn't have fun.
If you would like to find out more about how pornography causes real harm to both viewer and its other innocent victims, watch the DVD.

You certainly have a right to make a comment on this forum and that's okay with me, but I'm just a bit confused about what prompted you to say what you did. Are you
objecting
to me bringing up the subject of pornography again? Or are you just making a comment that you've observed that we take the importance of reporting on the dangers of pornography very seriously?
Does it bother you that pornography has been scientifically proven to be a causative agent for violence and sex crimes against women and children? That is the subject of this area of the forum. That is why the information has been posted here. It's a hugely important subject.
Did you know that because it was convinced of the porn/sex crime connection, the Canadian government OUTLAWED porn in that country? Good move in my opinion. Did you know that the rate of crime in Canada is extremely low when compared to USA and Australia where porn runs rampant? If you are a female living in Australia, your chances of being raped are incredibly high. I, for one, don't want those statistics to remain the same. I don't want my daughter being just another victim of some man who has learned through porn, that it is macho and sexy to disrespect women and to rape them.
Do you think that it's a good idea that people realise the causative connection between porn and violence to women? I do!
Or do you think the fact that even so called 'soft' porn does in fact causes violence against women, is of little consequence? Maybe you are one of the unfortunate people who are desensitised to porn and thus don't realise it is the lack of respect that porn causes toward women and children, that empowers men to regard them as sex objects and which makes porn so dangerous.
If you fall into the latter category, and I hope you don't, then perhaps you might want to do some more research on the causative link/connection between porn and the resulting violence toward women and children.
