The following is an email I received (carbon copied) as sent to a sponsor of two of the young ladies at Maranatha Family Orphanage.  The sponsor will no doubt appreciate any assistance we can possibly give to enable her sponsored child Millicent to continue her specialised education as a nurse.  Millicent studied hard at her school work and passed her examinations so well that she has been given the wonderful opportunity to continue her studies and become a registered nurse in Kenya.  Tragically, if Millicent is unable to pay her education tuition fees, she will not be permitted to continue her training and she will not be able to earn a decent living and escape the poverty cycle.  If you are able to help Millicent by contributing even a small amount toward her school fees, please do so as soon as possible.  This is very important to the whole orphange, not just to one orphaned child.

Also, another sponsored young lady who was raised at MFO, Juliet, also requires urgent assistance to enroll in the Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls High Government School.  Juliet has done extremely well in her exams; if she had not been so successful in her exams, she would not have been offered the position to attend the High School.  If you can help educate Juliet by contributing to her High School tuition fees, please do it now as the need is great.

Thank you,
Sherlene

Dear XXXXX, (Sponsor's name removed for privacy reasons)

"In you the fatherless find mercy." (Hosea 14:3) with this wonderful scripture we send you greetings and love from all at MFO and especially your foster orphans Juliet and Millicent.

The district education board has secured her a place with Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls High Government School.  School Fee per term KES 29,500 equivalent of $400.Please pray for this need, any help towards their school fee will be very much appreciated, Juliet is required to report to school on 3rd February 2012.

Yours in service,

On 30 January, Turning Point received a large donation from a lovely family.  The family's instructions were that their donation be specifically allocated to pay the tuition fees for two  young ladies' - Millicent and Juliet - both orphans at Maranatha Family Orphanage (MFO).

Also on 30 January, that same night, Turning Point's very first international banking transaction was completed from home  - and the students' tuition fees as well as the month's donation, sponsorship and tithe was sent to MFO Kenya, in one lump sum.  Processing the international transactions from home over the internet will save Turning Point an average of $120 per year (in telegraphic transfer bank fees) and this amount will be available to support 3 more orphans for a month or 1 orphan for 3 months.

Millicent is now training as a Kenyan registered nurse at Kendu Adventist School of Nursing.  She is happy for the support she has received since she was enrolled at MFO.

Juliet is now set to join Charles Lwanga Ichuni Government School on 3rd February 2012.

I too am delighted that Millicent will be able to continue her studies to become a nurse and that Juliet will be able to begin her education at high school.

Thank you so much to that amazing family who have made the gift of education possible to Millicent and Juliet.

Following is the bank statement that shows Turning Point's first international transfer made from home and the wonderful donation from the family who supplied the tuition funds for Millicent and Juliet.
