Dear Friends, Supporters and Sponsors,
Thank you so much for your support of the Maranatha Family Orphanage in 2011.  Your donations have made a life and death difference to the 50+ children and disaster victims in many parts of Kenya and the surrounding countries through your support of Maranatha Family Orphanage. Please find below the most recent newsletter from Gillian (secretary/teacher) at MFO (formerly Maranatha Family Centre - MFC).

Dear Friends and sponsors.

Another busy year of ministry at MFO is gone!  As we take time to look back over these many months, there are so many things that we are thankful for.

Evangelism Teams:  2011 was particularly busy year for MSC Evangelist team; it began with an evangelistic trip to Migori and Suba Counties, on February we held our annual youth’s conference over 200 youths participated from day one to the last day. On May it was a trip to the northern part of Kenya and the south of Sudan, a team of six from Kisii County travelled for four days by road and held several evangelistic outreach activities in the area for three weeks, many souls were reached and as a result a Sabbath school now exist with 15 families now as members.  In August we held our annual MSC camp meeting, over 400 participated, and 17 new members were baptized. This month from 23rd – 28th we will have our annual Child Evangelistic crusade at Gucha County, children particularly those from the orphanage will share about God to children in Gucha town; a few schools have been invited to attend the crusade.

Attendance at all MSC Congregations doubled in the year 2011! There are now several Congregations spread in many part of the Eastern Africa. Some have own building, while other are on rented premises and some conduct services under the tree. Please pray for every perfect provision from above.

ORPHANS CARE, MFO mission to fulfill Biblical mandate to "feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, house the homeless and lift the yoke of oppression is on with a few more new admissions in 2011 we currently have 60 orphans under our care, we are challenged by the increasing needs—but determined to find more ways to help these orphans.

Your sponsorship remain critical in

1.      Caring for orphans and vulnerable children by providing to orphans and other vulnerable children with shelter, clean water, nutritious food, medicine and expert healthcare, life-changing educational opportunities and income-generating microenterprises for grown up orphans.
2.      Mobilizing relief to respond to the needs of disaster victims, floods, drought or some other major disaster.

MFO SCHOOL The nursery school is doing well and currently we have 27 kids in nursery school, with two volunteer teachers.

Once again we are grateful for you all who have supported this work with prayers, hard work, and financial resources.  We wait expectantly for God’s guidance and provision for the days and weeks ahead.  God bless each of you richly!

Thank you for your compassion!

On behalf of the MFO Staff,

May God bless you.

Gillian
