I saw. This is a parabolic vision and must be interpreted as such. In it God is represented as doing that which He does not restrain. God does not coerce the will. When evil men willfully choose to follow deception He does not intervene.
Since God is supreme, His refusal to restrain the forces of evil is often represented as though He directly sends the evil. An example may be found in the incident of the fiery serpents (Num. 21:4–9). According to the narrative as related by Moses, “the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people” (Num. 21:6). However, these “fiery serpents” were not suddenly created or miraculously transported from some other region for the occasion; they already infested the wilderness area through which the children of Israel were traveling and would have been a source of real danger and the cause of frequent deaths had not God, by miracle, subdued these venomous reptiles. But when the people turned against the God who protected them from the many hazards of the desert, God simply withdrew His protection, and death was the result (see PP 429). Thus it was in the case of Ahab. Satan was already at work through the agency of the false prophets, and God simply did not prevent the course the king had chosen for himself.

Much people of Israel died. The deaths were due to the withdrawal of the protecting hand of God. The part of the country through which they were traveling was infested with snakes, scorpions, etc. (Deut. 8:15); hence, every day provided miracles of divine protection. But now the Lord withdrew His protection and allowed the snakes to attack the people.

Thanks for posting those excellent thoughts.

I believe you have outlined exactly how Satan has succeeded in large, in corrupting humanity's knowledge of God.  He causes some terrible catastrophe, which is bad enough, but then does further damage by crediting God with the crime that he, Satan, committed.

Ellen White was shown distinctly that God did not cause the calamities, but that when He was forced to remove His protection, these calamities occurred.  It was the pagan religion, which the Israelites had absorbed, which held the view that both good and evil came from the gods.  This is in direct opposition to the Bible prophets who prophesied as follows:

James 1:17
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights, in whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." 

1 John 1:5
"This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all."

Psalm 136:7
To Him who made the great lights, For His lovingkindness is everlasting:

"For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

I'm back..Hello every1,
My apologizes for not being here 4 a long time, I was distracted by outside influences, but I've overcome them 4 now...
Andrew you are so right in what you said.
There a great misconception among many that because it says it in the bible it must be true....
Our God is a God of love and understanding, I have spending quite a bit time on WLC recently and have had many  violent and not so violent disparaging remarks made to me on my views.
I put forward a post on the 6th commandment and started a virtual WW3. People are so misguided in their belief systems, and without saying most believe God condones violence as long
as its for the cause!! I know your saying WHAT!!! HOW CAN THIS BE!!! It amazes me how they think that the 6th commandment has leeway in it, that murder and killing are 2 different things.
I know that you think that I'm straying off this post but it has everything to do with the post, people must( I'm not trying to sound forceful) understand that they have been lied to on a grand scale,
that they have been deceived by their so-called leaders in their so-called churches to the benefit of Satan, he's sitting back and laughing because their playin right into his hands and until people realize
this their minds will still be clouded on this issue. I will show my back-up evidence on my next post, this just my preamble.
Has any1 ever thought that it was Satan that caused the great flood not God???

Hi Nobluebears glad to have u back, i find it weird that there is a OLD vs NEW Testament rivalry going, which i will try to makes sense of.
The reason why i think this is happening is that, Old Testament belief is exactly the same as the current belief of what God's character really is, The problem is The New testament Gives us True light on God the Father, and goes about correcting the character of God. Jesus Show's us the error of  Old Testament Law's (Mosaic Law's) and corrects them with the True message (example John 8:1-12) If anyone was going to cast a stone it would have been Jesus, and by old testament law he should have, and by doing so he would have been setting an example to others to obey his commandments but he did not, and why ?? well if you read the whole chapter u will understand.

Would you be surprised if I told you that I got into a "debate" on this subject with some1, apparently he did a blog on what he interpreted what happened in John ch8, and he was so wrong, I was gobsmacked by his remarks when I showed him to be incorrect about everything with John ch8, he became vile and demeaning I as you know had trouble keeping my cool, but in the end I felt better that I reminded myself that even the so-called smartest Christians can still get wrong....

G'day all I'm back as well after a long break, I also have been studying a subject on Worlds last chance

A truly amazing study, I'm now totally and utterly convinced that not only have we been duped about the Holy spirit and the true character of God but now it seems we have been misled about the true sabbath, Satan achieved this by introducing his continuous weekly cycle of calendation one the whole world uses. This is a deception beyond belief how he has convinced all that the continuous cycle of weeks has come down from the beginning from Genesis till now but alas this is NOT so, one can prove from the bible that this belief is wrong, and remember from revelations that the whole world in the last days will wonder after the beast, is not the whole world now doing this with what can be proven worshiping on 2 false days Jew and Adventist on Saturday (Saturn's day ) and Catholics and protestants on Sunday (day of the sun ) so lets find the real truth and the true sabbath day and meet with our Lord on the day He appointed.And lets look at the new calendar coming in 2012 yep another one and it's got some real surprises in stalled for all?

Seems there is only 3 on this forum and they already Know when is the true Sabbath day and how to calculate it, and according to God's calendar we are in the 13th month (this year in the year of our Lord 5997) now that's got you thinking and that Sabbath is this Thursday the last for this month and new moon day is Friday (this is not a week day nor a sabbath) but is the first day of the new month, and 8 days later counting new moon day the next 4 Friday's will be Sabbath's, and that Sabbath's since the beginning have always fallen in Gods calendar on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th  not the Gregorian Roman 7 day continuous cycling rubbish that the whole World wonders after.
And one of Sister Whites Quotes concerning the last days " and we went forth to proclaim the sabbath MORE FULLY this ENRAGED the churches and the NOMINAL ADVENTISTS end quote, and did you know that the Adventist Church has known the truth of the true sabbath since 1938!
So start studying folks.

Sir Isaac Newton discovered it in the late 1600's. The Roman Catholic Church discovered it shortly thereafter. William Miller and Samuel Snow discovered it in 1844. Grace Amadon and the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Research Committee discovered it in 1938. What did they discover? what they discovered and what the S.D.A. Church has known the truth of since 1938 and still today the keep the Gregorian weekly Saturday and have the affront to call it the Sabbath,
 
They found that it was impossible to harmonize the "Twelve Criteria" of Christ's crucifixion date with the Julian/Gregorian calendar. ("Criteria" – a standard, rule or test on which a judgment or decision can be based.) However, all of them found the Twelve Criteria fit perfectly using the Creator's luni-solar calendar, the one God designed at creation to rule time (see Genesis 1:14-19). The Creator's calendar utilizes the dual action of both sun and moon working together to determine days, weeks, months and years. As a result of this discovery, the Roman Catholic Church applied only five, somewhat skewed criteria, to an altogether different year (A.D.33) of their Julian/Gregorian calendar so they could still have a Sunday resurrection. William Miller and Samuel Snow, as a result of their discovery, were able to connect all the dots (dates) of the 2300 day/year prophecy. Grace Amadon and the GC Committee documented their 10 year research with over 5000 pages to and from astronomers all over the world, and presented their findings to the General Conference President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
It is important to understand the twelve criteria of Christ's crucifixion date because these same criteria establish when the true seventh-day Sabbath occurs – and it is not on Saturday. The prophecies of Daniel pinpoint A.D. 31 as the year Christ was crucified, so that is the year under consideration in this study.

Traditionally, it has been said that since the dawn of Creation 6000 years ago, successive weeks, the cycle of six days followed by a Sabbath rest, has never been broken to this very day. In addition, it has been said that our seven-day cycle is a tribute to a seven-day creation week, rather than the popular evolutionary process of millions of years. After all, who can argue this point when the Jews still keep this same unbroken weekly cycle today, as well as a Saturday Sabbath? But do they?

Sabbath and New Moon (Rosh Hodesh), both periodically recur in the course of the year. The New Moon is still, and the Sabbath originally was, dependent upon the lunar cycle. Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, p. 410.
If the evidence born out in this study is true, then successive weeks as we have known them on the Julian/Gregorian calendar "have been broken" since the time of creation. Secondly, Saturday as we know it today can not be the true seventh-day Sabbath of Yahuwah. If this is true, and if you are a truth seeker, would it not be a real joy to discover the true seventh-day Sabbath of our Creator?
