Last Updated: Is God amoral - ie. without any morals at all? Does God change His divine law according to time and circumstances, in regard to a 'special' people or is God's law unchanging and immutable? It is a principle of the Seventh-day Adventist faith that God's law is unchangeable, so why does it seem that there are instances in the Bible when God failed to punish those who transgressed His law and even commanded certain people to break His law? eg ordering the Israelites to commit genocide upon the Canaanites; ordering Moses to kill the man who broke the Sabbath, but not ordering the death of Moses for killing the Egyptian; was didn't God require the death of David for killing Uriah and committing adultery with Bathsheba? Why weren't the punishments proportionate to their crimes? Did God put the law aside when He so desired? Can God change the rules at whim?
